John Sanford was introduced to me from a friend of mine on a plane flight a few months ago. I thought the story of a detective in Minnesota sounded boring and never read his books but he talked me into trying the first one. I started with his first book and now am on #12. I read one of his books, then I read another book, but always go back to this series. Its is just a great series. Lucus, the hero, is supported by a very good cast of characters (sometimes with well played humor) and the villains are always interesting. I suggest starting with the first book so you can see how the characters are developed if you have not read any of his books but you will enjoy each book at a stand alone. A five star rating is well deserved because they are so enjoyable and fun to read.Product details

I have enjoyed the first 15 books so far. Each one is a different story that is always compelling and exciting. I like Sandford's writing style and perspective on his characters that just keep evolving over the years.He figures out how to tell a new story line that is engrossing and intriguing to keep me coming back. I plan on reading all the Prey books in the near future.
A great way to get 5 Lucas Davenport novels at one time, already grouped in order, AND at a nice discount. It also saves the hassle of having to create as many groups on my Fire HD.
I have been reading Lucas davenport stories for the last year. I have become an avid admirer of this tough, flawed, and funny detective. I love his brains and his irreverence. Sandford? Well, he can really write- some of the funniest stuff and best explications of the evil that lies within the human beast. This series has helped me endure one of the hardest periods of my life, living part time in the world of Davenport and his crew. Thanks, Lucas, and thanks, John Sandford.
If you are a fan of Lucas Davenport, then this is a wonderful collection of novels in the Davenport Prey series. Everyone will have his or her own favorite, but all advance the series with that inimitable Sandford style. Davenport is a great action hero, in that he combines interesting intellect with a seriously raw violent streak. These are terrific novels for those who like police procedural thrillers.
I always gravitate towards books with well defined, colorful and complicated characters. It is not the genre that draws me to Mr Sandford's books, it is a steadily paced adventure, often creepy, with really well crafted characters. If you like trying to solve the puzzle, out wit a vile excuse of a human being serial killer, and spend time with people that are as complicated as you, then the Lucas Davenport series is for you.
5+ Stars Excellent collection. John Sandford is a must buy, must read author. Being able to purchase his works in ebook sequential bundles makes for easy reading.
Ebook format allows for ease of storage, no worries about the books falling apart, pages damaged, etc. as you would with paper books.
I will re-read these stories and always look forward to, pre-order when possible, new works by this author.
For fans of Davenport this approach is a welcome convenience to the alternative of searching the web for a chronological list of the series, then keeping track on a piece of paper or a spreadsheet. For those addicted to Lucas this is a great way to keep your tablet loaded.
- I highly recommend you use and promote this approach to other authors/series so fans can visit or revisit their favorite characters in order. This help build the character and makes the whole series more interesting. Reacher, Harry Bosch, and several other characters come to mind. Please put some effort into working with the publishers for this packaging and then promote it to your customers.
